I01 High Professional Soccer Coach/Advisor

The development of this Intellectual Output is related to a module which fits in the Module Carousel. As it is based on the specific characteristics of the college responsible for the development of this module it has the title ‘High Professional Soccer Ad visor/coach’ and is developed by CEES.

The opportunities CEES has, both regionally and internationally, in working with high professional soccer organisations and other specialists in this field made the decision to formalise this module at this college.

Both students and staff have acquired skills through a combination of blended working (IT skills, applying new technologies and using them in practical settings) and hybrid learning by applying the theoretical material in many practical sessions offered by local organisations. In particular advisory techniques/methods (from La Masia/FC Barcelona) and specialistic skills or entrepreneurial skills to students who want to work in highly professional soccer environments.

Addressing Needs

One can notice that there are changes in the world of soccer when looking:

• At the club level, there are changes with more needs for a technical manager/director.

• At a personal level, more and more sports coaches are becoming self-employed through their own companies to be hired by clubs.

• At an international level, there is growing demand for sports professionals worldwide, especially for educated soccer professionals in areas like China and the Far East, where organisations from Spain and The Netherlands (i.e. Ajax, Barcelona or Espagnol are sending qualified young trainers to their partners in Asia and Africa).

Concept

The development process with Learning Outcomes and transnational similar modules is transferable to other specialist educations outside sports when there is no transnational curriculum.

Elements of Innovation

Transnational curriculum which will be constructed upon ECVET, and accepted by all partner colleges.

Formation of a network in vocational sports education.

Results

A module was available with a full educational program for students joining the project's Learning, Teaching and Training Activities and further on as an integrated program of the partner's transnational activities.

Better position in realm of soccer coach/club technical manager or preparation for a higher level in soccer coach education for the participating students.
